The weatherman

was indeed correct. The snow was already falling on Thursday evening but the predict continued heavy snow fall was exactly what we got.

Having two greyhounds means the pristine snow that looks so gorgeous doesn't stay that way long.

And at the speed our two go this is sometimes the best you can hope for!

Charlie wasn't into posing for the camera, snow's old hat for him after February's snow. Missy on the other hand was much more into exploring the white stuff and looking rather adorable.

And no matter what the weather these two want to have there walks cue Jon.

As the sun was setting we had the most beautiful blues and pinks in the sky, the picture doesn't capture it that well.

I'm feeling a little

smug. I've finished my present shopping and most of them are wrapped and tagged to boot.

Hannah collected her GCSE certificates this evening at her school's Commemorative Evening. On first glancing at the program it looked like it was gonna be a long evening but it turned out to be a well oiled event rounded off nicely with warm mince pies and very luke warm tea, yuck!

Monday, 14 December 2009

Signed, sealed,

photographed and posted.

Wow that's the first in the Webdale household, we're normally scrabbling around the day before the last day for 1st class Christmas post!

The end of

an era.

My Corrolla not unsurprisingly (it hasn't been driven in nearly a year) failed it's MOT in spectacular style. So is going to where all great MOT failures go, the scrap heap.

He didn't

come to the theatre particularly willingly and it did look like he was gonna use the 'I'm not well' line to get out of coming but by his own admission he had a great time. Eastern Angles Mansfield Park & Ride, I haven't laughed that much in a long time and they serve a very civilised non alcoholic mulled wine and mince pie at the interval.  Is this the start of a new pre Christmas tradition?

Thursday, 10 December 2009

I ordered

several of the presents I wanted to get for family and friends today. So together with the presents I picked up from shops in Ipswich on Wednesday evening I'm pretty close to calling it job done but I guess I'd best wait and see whether my internet ordered goods turn! I have wrapping paper ready and waiting, I'm determined to not leave it to the last minute as I have done in previous years.

In non Christmas news Hannah got an **A** in her sociology mock exam, I'm having a proud mummy moment.

Tuesday, 8 December 2009

So what have I achieved

today? Well on the face of it not a lot!!
I had good intention to browse the internet, snapping up bargain presents for everyone on my list and call it job done. Well I did the browsing but as for snapping up bargain or otherwise it either wasn't available or cost too much to ship, especially as I go past one particular large toy store at least 3 times a week! I did however after quite a bit of research decide on a couple of 'make and model' for gift I want to get.
So not quite as successful as I'd hoped but it feels like I've made a good start.
Then I got thinking about todays JYC prompt and nothing says Christmas more than the first Christmas card that arrives and mince pies.

Saturday, 5 December 2009

Maybe

not the best start to the day but once my headache cleared I was able to enjoy the rest of the day, well what was left of it and that included a little cutting and sticking.
My JYC is still in the form of journaling in my notebook, not how I envisioned it but I am keeping up and exploring my feelings around each of the prompts. I may have a go at creating some scrapbooking pages tomorrow but that's really the 'icing on the cake'

I hate days

when I wake with a killer headache, makes me cranky, moody and altogether not a particularly pleasant person to be with.
Hope to stift this one soon.

Friday, 4 December 2009

Santa was at

Joshua and Matthew's school Christmas fair so after all the children had seen him, I thought a little cuddle up with the big guy was in order and like many of the children it was recorded for posterity but Hazel 'official' photographer. Sadly the assistant was MIA mainly cause she was frivolously in front of the camera!!!

Thursday, 3 December 2009

I'm well chuffed,

I managed to cross off everything on my to do list plus a few extras as well
  • Get rid of the scrap cardboard boxes to the dump.
  • Bag up and take to the charity shop clothes that I've been dithering about whether I should keep or not.
  • Clean out all the craft stuff I'd like to re home from my working area. Wonder what's the best way of re homing it?
  • Tidy up my work area
  • Sort out this week's menu and go do the boring weekly Sainsburys shop. Mustn't forget to get a little birthday cake as we're belatedly celebrating Dads birthday this afternoon/evening.
  • Journal for day 3 of JYC 09.
Plus I cooked Bacon Garganelli with Sweet Roasted Squash for tea that went down a storm with everyone, the recipe's here. Unfortunately I forgot the cake but dad was made up with the apple crumble I made. So it was smiles all round.

Today

I plan to:

Right best get back to it then.

The 'Her' in the

Her, Him, Me and a Little Scrapbooking is DD Hannah who I have to say drives me crazy at times, I know, I know she's a teenager! Having said that in actual fact I think she's amazing.
Yesterday was college parents evening for us and although we were only able to see a couple of her teachers the reports at interview and in her written report were glowing.
Her diligence and hard work will hopefully take her as far as she wants to go, certainly her achievement to date have exceeded all my expectations

Tuesday, 1 December 2009

JYC 09

it all starts today. Oh and the serious business of getting ready for Christmas.

Monday, 30 November 2009

Hannah gifted me

her cold! Now I know I've always encouraged her to share however I'm sure I quite categorically told not to share that. Oh well 'Day Nurse/Night Nurse' works wonders for the inevitable runny nose, and scalding hot black tea helps with the sore throat. Hopefully this one won't hang around for long.
Tonights DVD from Mr Tesco was Star Trek, it's been a bit of a wait but worth it, now we can start wondering what we'll get for next Sunday.

Saturday, 28 November 2009

Another Wyverstone

Saturday sadly over, they always go to quickly probably cause I always have such a good time.
November crop is the last one of the year, so we trotted off to the Four Horse Shoes and enjoyed a festive pub lunch and the empty plate speaks for itself.

Predictably I completely very little but what I did achieve I was pleased about. I now only have a little bit of journaling to add to a mini book that I started in Oct 2008! I cut cardstock down to 6" x 6" and gather christmas patterned papers together ready for the start of JYC on Tuesday and just need to gather some embellishments together and I'll be right ready. Plus I all but completed 1 LO, a scraplift of one of my own LO cause there's no point 'reinventing the wheel'.

Friday, 27 November 2009

Well I'm sort of ready

for Wyverstone in the morning in that my table favour is made and filled and I know what clothes I'm wearing, so long as they still fit.
My stash however still needs to be packed, mainly because I can't decide whether to pack ultra light in the full knowledge that I rarely get much done or to just throw whatever in the car and go with the flow when I get there. The later sounds like my kind of plan.
So now that decision is made I'm heading off to bed.

Thursday, 26 November 2009

Hello my name's Eileen

and I'm deadline scrapper, well normally but have been really inspired by Decembers GoGo gorgeousness. Decembers ScrapaGoGo kits aren't just for Christmas photos, no you'll be scrapping all sorts with it but of course it's good for Christmas photos if you want.
Here's my LOs and just wait to see what the other GoGo Girls have been up to.

Tuesday, 24 November 2009

Anybody that knows

me knows that Christmas isn't my favourite time of year, so I surprised myself and probably anybody reading this that I've signed up for Journal Your Christmas with Shimelle . No pressure, I'm gonna roll with it, do what I can and not beat myself up if it doesn't work out cause I can have another bash at it next year. Heck I might even rediscover I like Christmas.

Sunday, 22 November 2009

Card crazy

that's what I've been. I may have started off making card but I don't normally go mad for making card well that was until Thursday and Friday evening when made up 8 cards using Decembers ScrapaGoGo Greetings kit. I can only show you 7 cause the 8th one needs a greeting adding.

Sunday, 15 November 2009

Gotta love

technology when you can get it to work but oh so frustrating when you can't. Successfully used ichat video connection with sister and family but sadly can't figure out why I can't anyone else.
I think this is worth investing a bit more time into but for now it's time for lunch and then a little bit of GoGo scrapping, December style.

Monday, 9 November 2009

I was boomed

the moment I step into the shop! I went up to Papermaze to pick up a 1"circle punch that I really do need however my resistance was weak and temptation too strong and came away with some Cosmo Cricket & October Afternoon papers plus a couple of other bits.

Now I had better get back to my saving ways or I won't have any money to spent whilst in American in January. Avoidance is gonna be my best strategy I think.

Sunday, 8 November 2009

I cheered myself

up by watching a bunch of Mac adds on YouTube, this has to be my favourite - Apple Add - Calming Teas, go watch it's a laugh.

Saturday, 7 November 2009

Scrapping's meant to be

FUN right?  Well it isn't at the moment. The project I'm working on at the moment is lucky not to be a little ball of screwed up paper on the other side of the room. So I'm stepping away from the scalpel, glue and papers and I'm gonna see whether it's any better in the morning.

Thursday, 5 November 2009

OMG

I had such a laugh this afternoon, my good friend Karen popped in for a cuppa and for some reason the mood descended in to silliness started of course by Karen. Karen finds greyhound ears irresistible and loves nothing better than to play 'earigami', the art of folding greyhound ears. Missy is such a softie she doesn't mind as long as she get some fussing. Charlie does his own ear thing that we call 'Dobbie Ears' like Dobbie from Harry Potter. So that got us giggling, Karen giggling at Missy and Charlie and me giggling at her, it all so infectious. I so must get a photos although it won't be as funny as the real thing.
Then we got chatting about the hole that's appeared in her lounge (you have to go visit her blog she has the patience of saint with the house renovations that are an ongoing 16 yr process!) which given it's depth I suggested she better not fall down else she might never make out again, you have to know that Karen is a smig under 5 ft although she claims to be 5 ft anyway I thought it was pretty funny. Then it struck me she couldn't fall down the hole her boobs would stop her but that she's be stuck with her leg gangling below, yep Karen's not only short in statue but a little on the top heavy side, well that was it we were both in absolute stitches.
Karen you're such a good sport but I know there's gonna be a price to be paid, she's said as much on her blog. Maybe not next week but I'm gonna be on my guard the week after.

Sunday, 1 November 2009

Two's a magic number,

well the only magic is it's the number of LOs I got finished today and I wasn't even the last person to leave the crop room this time.
Right I need to get some quality sleep as quantity is no longer available.

Saturday, 31 October 2009

GoGo Getaway

is in full swing, well not right now as most folks are sensibly tucked up in bed getting the necessary sleep for the next busy day. Which is exactly what I'm gonna do now.

Tuesday, 27 October 2009

I can't quite believe

it's only 3 more sleeps until GoGo Getaway. The challenge is for everyone to pack light, I don't normally do light, so I have plans to get started today that way I might be finished by Friday! My class LO is all done and pack so that's a good start!!!!!

Sunday, 25 October 2009

I've had my monthly

dose of Wyverstone therapy and now all is well with the world, well nearly. I had an absolutely blast of a day, there was lots of chatted and laughed like I haven't in ages. There was also a fair bit of tea drinking and pecan pie eating ummmmmmmmm - thanks to Sharon's mum. Plus I even managed a little scrapping.

In sad news my XXL glass cutting mat is no more - it went all to pieces, literately but I have a plan!

Saturday, 17 October 2009

Why is that

whenever you take anything apart/put it back together there's alway something left over?
We've had a bit of a computer rejig as a result of me changing over to a Mac, having recabled both machines and all the various peripherals I have 1 lonely cable with no home! Hope it's not vital.
November's ScrapaGoGo kit arrived and I'm planning to play today.

Monday, 12 October 2009

After several days

of feeling sorry for myself I'm finally feeling nearly back to normal.
I don't have any scrapping deadlines and my scrapping table is complete clear as I had a massive tidy up on Sunday so I'm planning to do a couple of pre Getaway challenges tomorrow, might even set one.

Wednesday, 7 October 2009

With all around me

snuffly, snotty and sneezing it was almost inevitable that I would end up with something.  So as the day progressed and I started to feel a lot less than great I knew my day of reckoning had arrived.

I have deadline looming and haven't got time to be ill so I'm hoping that 'Day Nurse' will keep me going.

Sunday, 4 October 2009

Is it wrong to have

chocolate birthday cake with your early morning cuppa tea?

I didn't think so either so that's what I had this morning. Thanks go to my guy who's an early morning person.

Saturday, 3 October 2009

The birthday

girl got tea in bed, opened cards and presents. Was whisked off to see Surrogates at the cinema before a little birthday shopping, didn't find a coat or boots but did find a lovely note book at Papercase.
And what birthday would be complete with a tasty take away for tea. Shame there was no room for birthday cake.

Friday, 2 October 2009

Friday evening

is all about the weekly shopping but for a girl about to celebrate her birthday she get a get out of jail card. I did have a say in what went on the shopping list yay.

Thursday, 1 October 2009

On Wednesday

it looked like that 'operation imac' was hold but in a twist of fate it all turned out OK. My imac has be nick named 'Master Mac' and is up and running very nicely :) The process of transferring data is no where near done, in fact it's still in the deciding phase.

Our evening here at the Froize was very tasty, it was a special evening called Tastes of Suffolk and was part of the Aldeburgh Food Festival. Just wish I'd exercised a little more restraint.

Yesterday

Hazel and got a little pampering, thanks to a voucher from Mum & Dad for Christmas, no not an early Christmas pressie just very late in using last years Christmas pressie!  Ufford Park Spa was the venure and the end result was these gorgeous little piggies, lets hope the weather stays warm enough to keep them on show for a little longer.

Tuesday, 29 September 2009

I got told off

for not really celebrating my birthday - it's always been a bit of a non event, so this year I'm planning to making more of an effort.
Jon's had his half days leave approved, so it's all systems go for our evening out on Thursday. I guess you could say that Thursday is gonna be an early start to my birthday celebrations.
Now what else should I do on my birthday? A film seems like a safe bet, Surrogates seems like my cup of tea but The Invention of Lying could be a laugh.

Monday, 28 September 2009

My friend Karen

calls it mental chewing gum but I'm not in the least bit offended cause I Love TV. It really is the perfect way to mind down from whatever kind of day you've had. Channel 5 have a new series started tonight called Flashforward, great first episode and I'm hungry for more.

Whilst watching TV this evening I got on with some ironing and I'm all up to date with the ironing. Just need to put it all away which if I'm honest I dislike more than sorting, washing and ironing put together.  Oh well need must.

Saturday, 26 September 2009

I spent the day

here.

Completed 2 LOs which is good for me plus got to chat and catch up with friends. Oh and in the spirit of raising money Macmillan drank lots of tea and forced myself to eat cake, the most delicious low fat apple and cinnamon cake made by the umber talented Sharon.

Friday, 25 September 2009

Going to bed

at a sensible time gives you a spring in your step but that doesn't mean that I'm going to be sensible all the time. Silly O'Clock is my natural time to go to bed!!!!!
I got my photo taken today, the result are rather good if I do say so myself. Must be the result of super model - me and talented photographer - my sister. I'm hoping she's gonna share with me so I can update my   avatar.
It's the last Saturday in the month tomorrow and that mean only one thing, Wyverstone Crop. This month is our 5th Annual Macmillan Crop which is run to coincide with the Macmillan World's Biggest Coffee Morning. I'm hoping to break my usual habit of last minute packing in the morning and do a little sensible packing tonight. We'll see.

Thursday, 24 September 2009

I'm all

finished with my designs for October ScrapaGoGo kit.

I've loved designing with this kit, this is favourite card and I created a second one with a different sentiment.

And this is my favourite LO from this month's kit

Wednesday, 23 September 2009

My Godmother

recently pasted away following a long battle with cancer and today was my opportunity to say goodbye. The service was very emotional but it was good to remember what a full and active life she lived. I also have to take comfort in the knowledge that she is at peace now.

Monday, 21 September 2009

Don't get me wrong

I love them to bits but the end to a Monday seems a little more relaxed and definitely quieter now that all the boys head off to Beavers before I finish work.
During 2007/2008  I lost nearly 3 stone. I had a good deal of success following Slimming Worlds but also shed a fair amount during a stressful time in my life when I lost my appetite. Since the return of my health, happiness and appetite I have slowly but surely regained half of what I lost. I've made half hearted attempts to get back to my losing ways but as my heart hasn't been in it I've had little or no success. So starting today I set my mind to shedding the weight I've regained.

Saturday, 19 September 2009

You've gotta

love the Dyson website, well if you own a Dyson and I do. Saved me a small fortune as the problem that caused our Dyson to die last weekend was easily fixed.
My little toe is still very painful and turning a very nice shade of blue following my spectacular fall on Friday but otherwise I seem to have got away with that one quite lightly.

Friday, 18 September 2009

She called me Calamity Jane

and perhaps she's right, today I trip myself up with some toys that I was putting away, alas no one was around to see such poetry in motion!!! Boy am I gonna be stiff tomorrow.
Jon wants me to deal with a heap of post this weekend, I have issues with boring post so it's built up into quite a pile. Me I'd much rather be doing a little scrapping, wonder what I'll end up doing?

Thursday, 17 September 2009

You could

say that today was in complete contrast to yesterday and I certainly would.
I especially enjoyed the tea and lemon cake that I had with Karen this afternoon, perfect and of course we both did a little cutting, sticking and a little chatting!!!!!

Wednesday, 16 September 2009

I have nothing

remotely exciting to share and all I can say about today is that it was very busy, good but busy. I'm so pooped that I'm not sure I have enough energy to haul myself off to bed!

Tuesday, 15 September 2009

Been

scrapping, chatting, ironing, mending and even squeezed in a bit of Jamie in New York this evening.
Even though I didn't get everything I wanted done today, I made good progress and that's good enough for me. After all there's always Thursday.

Yesterday

was all work but today I'm planning to play all day. I have my sketches, photos and all the pretty papers a girl could want plus the odd embellishment and I'm gonna scrap.
But first I'm gonna enjoy my morning cuppa tea in bed and maybe even a chapter of the book (shock, horror an actual book) I'm Reading at the moment.

Sunday, 13 September 2009

I lost my creative drive

roaming the isles of Sainsbury however we now do have a fridge full of all the esentials as well as a few extras.
So although I didn't managed to get any more cutting or sticking done today, I did manage to sketch and plan. It'll be a lot easier to put together the LOs when I feel creative again.
Sunday evening is movie night. Tonight movie was The Duchess starring Keira Knightley which was really rather good.

Saturday, 12 September 2009

I cut and stuck

pretty papers today and can now happily tick off one of the jobs on my 'to do' list.

Jon's started asking what I'd like for my birthday and after a little thought I've come to the conclusion that dollars would be good. Well I hope I might get me a little blue box in the near future and dollars will definitely help!

Friday, 11 September 2009

How can

a yellow pizza make me so happy? Well cause it's full of ScrapaGoGo pretties, I'm doing my ohhing and ahhing tonight before I get stuck in to create with it over the weekend.

Hannah had her shortest college day of the week, 10.45 'till 13.25 - it's a hard life!

Thursday, 10 September 2009

Today I enjoyed the luxury

of reading in bed before needing to get up this morning - BLISS.
Got my locks cut this afternoon, for a girl who's had short hair for like forever my hair is long at the moment. Trouble is my fringe is bugging me and after today I'm still not sure. I do have a plan B, have it cut short again but not yet.
Karen stopped off this afternoon for a cuppa, it's always good to catch up with my friend.

Wednesday, 9 September 2009

Janice and I

met at Burger King, Copdock, not glamorous but a convenient half way point for us to do a little swapping. And as it happens we made ourselves at home and had a good old chin wag. I'm guessing that we must be Burger Kings longest sitting customers, 2 hours slip past without any trouble at all!

I started at

one end of town and worked my way to the other end, stopping at just about every shop that had a sniff of anything crafty and now have everything I need. Plus with a bit of time it's all pack up and ready to go.

Hannah was one happy girl when she go back from her first day at college, she especially like the her timetable.

Monday, 7 September 2009

I've been told

to take control, so I am and that means I get to go stash shopping when really on a self imposed stash ban. Wish I had a bigger budget!

I love my sister for lots of reason but today she came up trumps with some supplies that let me make a start on a project I'm working on.

Sunday, 6 September 2009

I struggle

to keep my scrapping area tidy as I'm such a messy scrapper. However as I have October's GoGo DT kit arriving any day soon and a class to prepare I set aside some time this afternoon to have a clear up.
Not perfect but so much better

Saturday, 5 September 2009

If only we'd have known

that the bus company's travel office closed at 1pm we'd have gone there first but as we didn't we ambled through town stopping at the various shops we needed before arriving at the travel office 15 minutes after it closed. So the bus pass Hannah needs for college still need to be purchased.

Files and paper however were purchased, so armed with these and old pens and pencils, her choice she's about set for college.

Flooring in the ensuite is all that's needed to call it job done but as we can't decide what type of flooring we want it's been presssed back into service.

Thursday, 3 September 2009

Today

I could quite easily have stayed under the duvet and left the world to carry on without me. Instead I spent most of the day cranky and irritable at anything and almost everything.

Wednesday, 2 September 2009

It made my day

when my nephew came rushing down to me in my car as I was about to leave, on opening the window he leaned forward and gave me a kiss, on the lips and said 'love you'. Doesn't happen often but it's one of those priceless moment that you want to remember forever.

Tuesday, 1 September 2009

Whilst out

walking the hounds a little detour to the newsagents satisfied my need for choccy biscuits. Alas there are none left now but they did taste good especially when dunked in a nice cuppa.

Monday, 31 August 2009

Maybe not everybodies

idea of a great Bank Holiday but a day relaxing doing not a lot works for me.

Watched 'The Holiday' with Hannah this afternoon and after quite a bit of discussion watched The Green Mile, this evening. Boy is it a good film although I had forgotten how long it is and yes I did need the tissues.

Sunday, 30 August 2009

Mission accomplished

- all GoGo LOs and cards completed, photographed and uploaded. Here's a couple from Septembers Seasonal Soiree kit that I've been working with.

When people move on it makes me sad, even knowing it's what they want and maybe even what they need, does that make me selfish?

Saturday, 29 August 2009

The last saturday of the month

means only one thing - Wyverstone Crop :) As normal I had a great day, only one down side, the day always goes in too quickly.

Friday, 28 August 2009

Having gone to bed at silly o'clock

the morning arrived too soon.

Bathroom is looking good but requires another 1/2 days work to call it job done.

Thursday, 27 August 2009

The stress, nerves, excitement

and ultimate relief of results day have come and gone. Hannah did well and is one happy girl. The biggest whoop was for the B in Maths a subject that she's always struggled with. Proud doesn't even come close to how we're feeling right now.
So now our house is once more at peace, well apart from the plumbers who've been clattering around the place today.

Wednesday, 26 August 2009

Had the shock of my life today

when I went to buy tiles. Do you know how much they wanted,  £15 square metre!!!!!!  Needless to say I came away empty handed and will be tile hunting tomorrow.

It's GCSE results day tomorrow and Hannah's a bag of nerves. She says it's the waiting that's the worst bit, roll on tomorrow and whatever happens we'll know and can sort it.

Tuesday, 25 August 2009

In my living room

I have a toilet pan, cistern, basin and pedestal. Oh and some taps. All exciting stuff as we have the plumber coming on Thursday to sort out our en suite bathroom, so they won't be the living room long.

I do have to get tiles tomorrow, mustn't forget.

Monday, 24 August 2009

I'm happy to report

that Hannah had a fab time at the beach yesterday. She did remember the sun cream apart from her ears and nose which are both a little pink today.

I had hoped to get some scrapping done this evening but I've pulled some muscles in my back, not serious I think but uncomfortable. I have GoGo deadline looming so hoping it settles soon.

What I did manage was a gentle walk with Jon, Hannah and the hounds this evening but boy is it getting dark a lot earlier theses days!

Sunday, 23 August 2009

Today is more than hot enough

to send any pale skinned peeps running for shelter and that's exactly what I'm doing. I may indulge in a little cutting and sticking later.

Hannah on the other hand has packed her bags and head off to the beach with friends. I hope that she remembers to slap on the sun cream.

Saturday, 22 August 2009

I had to be up at 6 am

and I don't do mornings!
But a day spent with the GoGo girls made the early morning worth while.

Friday, 21 August 2009

I got a flyer today

and was home by 2 pm, which pleased Hannah.
I was chuffed because I also manage to get rid of the boxes and bags of old clothes that have been cluttering the boot of my car to the charity shop.

Wednesday, 19 August 2009

Hannah & I took our seats to see

'The Time Travelers Wife' with about a minute to spare. Having read the book I was prepared to be disappointed but the film followed the book enough to be a winner in my books. Of course like when I read the book it had me crying at the end.

Tuesday, 18 August 2009

It may have taken 9 years

and many discussions between Jon & I along the lines of I want one and he can't see the need but thanks to my Dad I now have a door to my en suite bathroom. The original was  removed by the previous owners for reasons best known to themselves.
